History of Incidents
Since the onset of the large-scale conflict in Ukraine, a string of Russian military officials have been targeted within Moscow.
This most recent event follows other high-profile incidents, such as:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was lost his life in a automobile blast in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov died in late 2024 when a device placed on a scooter was detonated remotely.
While a Ukrainian source previously linked Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are never publicly admitted as a matter of standard practice.
The war has increasingly seen clandestine operations extending into the streets of the Russian capital.
The probe into General Sarvarov's death continues to be ongoing.
